The underemployed Viennese private detective Max Müller is commissioned by the beautiful, mysterious blonde Ingrid Bergman to search for her missing fiancé. Together with assistant Larry, he investigates the underworld, comes across an attractive gang leader and discovers that his client’s father is involved in the case. Important personalities, compromising photos, murders and Müller’s secretary Fräulein Schick, who is in love with him, pave Müller’s path. He solves the case, although the whole underworld is soon after him.
