This feature film from 1990 is known as one of Austria’s film classics. The film deals with an issue that is still very topical today – the “death of bees”. Harry is ten years old and lives with his uncle Rudi, a beekeeper, portrayed by the famous Austrian actor Karl Merkatz. One day Harry is given his own beehive. The boy proudly looks after his beloved bees and learns about the life of bees. One day something strange suddenly happens: One dead bee after another lies around his hive. Together with his girlfriend Barbara, Harry tries to find an explanation. It doesn’t take long before a trail leads them into his neighbor’s garden…
