The film tells the story of Klaus, one of the many drug addicts in Austria. His parents have left a long time ago, Klaus is alone with his problems. He is lonely and always on the run: From school, from his parents, from himself. There are many who are just like him. This film gives people a chance to speak: Therapists at a drug ward, doctors and politicians, people from the street… The film asks addicts how they cope with their situation and follows the traces of those who are no longer heard. The second part is a retrospective of 12 years of drug policy in Austria. What happened to the people from the first part? Have they managed to escape addiction and the vicious circle?
